REGINA PATS COME FROM BEHIND

AND WIN OVER CALGARY

in a SHOOT OUT 4-3

The Pats got off to a fast start with 5 wins and one lose, for first place in the East Division. Their last game against Prince George Cougars, the banged up westerners came in and shut out the Pats 2-0. Since then the Pats have dropped to third place in a real tight Eastern Division. Only 3 points separate first place Saskatoon and Brandon

The Pats start a three game road trip tonight in Calgary against the Hitmen, puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome with the pre-game starting at 6:35 p.m. Tonight it will be Regina Pats Athletic Therapist-Trainer Greg Mayer's 1,000 game (including Moose Jaw Warriors, Hired July 3, 1997 and Regina Pats).

First Period:

Scoring:
Regina Pats sixteen year old rookie Morgan Klimchuk skated down the left side of the boards and scored
(third of the season) on a hard shot over Calgary's Goaltender Chris Driedger at 9:31, assisted by Dominik Volek.

Second Period: Calgary Hitmen only had one power play prior to this game, but scored two to start this period. Regina Pats have taken the first seven penalties, yes (7). Calgary finally gets their first penalty with 1:24 left in the period. Pats first shot came with only 18 seconds remaining in the period.

Scoring: Calgary's Cody Sylvester, scored a power play goal, a point shot off the near goal post at 1:00 into the period, assisted by Trevor Cheek and Jimmy Bubnick. Calgary went up 2-1 on their second power play goal ( 5 on 3) by Brooks Macek off Regina Pats Defenceman Brandon Underwood at 6:40, assisted by Sylvester and Victor Rask. Regina Pats were being out shot 12-0 at the mid point of the period.

Scoring: The Hitmen go up 3-1 as Trevor Cheek scored on a rebound at 10:42, assisted by Spencer Humphries and Brooks Macek. Regina Pats Jordan Weal scored at 17:10 to make it 3-2, assisted by Mike Klimchuk and Dyson Stevenson. With only 51 seconds left in the period Regina Pats tied the game with only 51 seconds left at 3-3 two minutes later, with goaltender Matt Hewitt pulled with 1:38 left. It was Dyson Davidson tipping in Brandon Davidson shot at 19:09, also assisted by Lane Scheidl.
