REGINA PATS - 6 vs. EDMONTON OIL KINGS - 1

The Pats visit the Edmonton Oil Kings Saturday night at 8:00 pm Saskatchewan time on 620 CKRM with Broadcaster Rod Pedersen and Colorman Dan Plaster (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 7:35 pm). Moose Jaw Warriors won 3-1 over Seattle and are seven points up over the Pats for the final playoff spot with 13 games to go. Moose Jaw's also two points up on Swift Current, who lost 3-0 in Brandon last night.

The flu bug has hit the Regina Pats. Jordan Eberle played last night, only because he wants to help the club get into the play-offs and will be playing tonight, after tonights game he will get three days rest. Goal tender Damien Ketlo is out with the flu and Rookie Dawson Guhle will be play in the net this game.

Jordan Eberle didn't disappoint Edmonton hockey fans Saturday night, netting a goal and two assists in a 6-1 Regina Pats' rout of the hometown Oil Kings before 6,022 fans at Rexall Place. The Oilers' first rounder had a three point night along with teammates Jordan Weal and Matt Strueby as the Queen City Kids snapped a three game slide and kept their playoff hopes alive.


GAME SUMMARY: By Ron C. Johnston - A late goal in the first period, gave Regina Pats a 1-0 lead. A bad Edmonton turn over which landed on Regina Pats Matt Strueby's stick. He shot from just inside the blue line that went off goal tender Tomie Jung's glove at 19:37.

Edmonton's Garry Nunn tied the score when he received a pass from behind the net infront of the net at 4:49, assisted by Sebastian Svendsen and Michael St. Croix. Then Regina Pats errupted for four goals. Ten seconds later Kyle Mulder had all time to score, as he was left alone, assisted by Tomas Hricina. About four minutes later Matt Scrueby scored a power play goal, on a three player pass. Scrueby scored at 8:38, assisted by Jordan Weal and Jordan Eberle. Then a late goal by Lefller a quick release at 19:06, assisted by Strueby and Colten Teubert. It was Regina Pats 4-1 going into the third period.

In the third period Regina Pats Jordan Eberle scored on a warp around, back handed at 9:32, his 40th goal of the season, assisted by Carter Ashton and Jordan Weal to make it 5-1. It was the same three players making it Regina Pats 6-1 when Jordan Weal went to the net and scored to the top of the net at 13:08, assisted by Ashton and Eberle. With Eberle's three points has put him into first place in the WHL scoring race: Eberle - GP: 45, G: 40, A: 42. PTS: 82; Graig Cunningham, Vancouver Giants - GP: 58, G: 34, A: 48, PTS 82.
