2010 - OLYMPICS - CANADIAN LADIES HOCKEY TEAM DOWN FINLAND 5-0 - CANADA IN GOLD MEDAL AGAINST UNITED STATES, THURSDAY

Canada Ladies Olympic Team scored two goals in the first and third periods to down Finland 5-0 and a birth in the Gold Medal against the United States Thursday.

A pass out behind the net by Megnan Agosta, across the goal crease right in front of the net, had Cherie Piper score into the right side of the net at 5:22. Canada went up 2-0 at 14:36, Haley Irwin scored when she poked in the puck at the left corner of the net pass the goalies skate. Canada out shot Finland 15-2 in the first period.

Megnan Agosta scored from in front of the net, assisted by Tessa Bonhomme. Canada took a 3-0 lead into the third period.

Irwin scored her second goal of the game at 4:23 from the right side ot the net, assisted by Rebecca Johnston and Sarah Vaillancourt. With 4:05 left in the game Wickenheiser had a break-a-way only to hit the high right post. Canada closed the scoring when Caroline Ouellet scored a short handed goal at 18:57, when she recieved a pass from Marie-Philip Poulin at the right boards and scored into the left side of the net.
