2010 - OLYMPICS - CANADA LADIES WIN GOLD -

By: Ron C. Johnston - All Canada Ladies team needed was two goals in the first period, two minutes and fifty-five minutes apart to defeat the United States 2-0 and win the Gold Medal.

The two big heros were 18 year old Marie-Philip Poulin of Beaucheville, Quebec scoring both goals. The first at 13:55, assisted by Jennifer Botteril and at 16:50, assisted by Meghan Agosta. The second hero was goaltender Shannon Szabados who made 29 saves for the shut out. They were both first time Olympians.

The United States had their chances during the game, twice having a 5 on 3 power play, plus four other power plays, but just could not score.
