REGINA PATS - 5 vs. SWIFT CURRENT BRONCOS - 2

The Pats visit the Swift Current Broncos Saturday night at 7:30 pm on 620 CKRM, Broadcaster Rod Pedersen and Colorman Dan Plaster (Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show at 7:05 pm). Regina are 6 points out of 8th place for the last play-off birth.

GAME SUMMARY: In the first period Regina Pats scored two goals less then 2 minutes apart.

Brett Leffler scored at 7:32, assisted by Brandon Davidson. Then at 9:11 Matt Strueby scored unassisted. The only goal in the second period had Swift Current's Dillon Wagner scoring at 9:21, assisted by Taylor Vause. It was Regina Pats 2-1 going into the third period, when the lights went out in the rink. Rink crews parked the zamboni on the ice with its lights on to assist people in seeing the main exit so that the large crowd could leave the arena.

We're waiting to see what the verdict is. SaskPower says there's no end in sight.... With the storm, the Regina Pats have decided to stay over night. With approximately an hour delay, CKRM Broadcaster Rod Pedersen and colorman Dan Plaster came back on the air at 10:08.

Third period - With the attendance at 2,571 there were only about 100 fans in left in the stands, as the game was continued at 10:23. Regina Pats went up 3-1 as Colten Teubert scored a power play goal on a hard shot that was tipped off a Swift Current players stick at 3:38, assisted Hampus Gustafsson and Cass Mappin. With Regina Pats Goaltender Dustin Ketlo flat on his back, Adam Lowry scored at 9:17, assisted by Brad Hoban and Derek Claffey. It was Regina Pats leading 3-2. Regina scored 2 more goals with in 2 minutes. The first had Defenceman Cody Carlson score on a long high shot at 13:14, assisted by Jordan Eberle and Carter Ashton. Then Eberle stole the puck passing to Ashton who feeded it to Jordan Weal who scored at 15:24 to give the Regina Pats a confortable lead at 5-2. A game that started at 7:31, was finally ended at 10:55.
