In the midst of a crisis between the pipes, the Regina Pats acquired goaltender Brett Martyniuk from the Tri-City Americans on Wednesday for a conditional bantam pick. Rookie backup Dawson Guhle has been carrying the load for Regina in the absence of starter Damien Ketlo, who’s slated to miss another three to four weeks with a shoulder injury. Guhle was added to the injured list on Tuesday when he hurt his groin in the third period of Regina’s 4-3 loss to the Calgary Hitmen. The extent of his injury was not immediately known. The Pats had already brought in veteran Joel Danyluk from the SJHL’s La Ronge Ice Wolves to serve as their emergency backup. He’s expected to remain with the team through the final two games of the road trip. Martyniuk is slated to join Regina in time for Thursday's game against the Kootenay Ice, and looks like he will be thrown into competition right away, with Guhle hurt.
