REGINA PATS - 3 vs. CALGARY HITMEN - 4

vs.

I noticed this morning that Pats General Manager Brent Parker was fined $500 for criticizing the officiating following Regina’s last game before the Christmas break, a 3-1 loss to the Hitmen. Well Brent, does this mean another $500 Tuesday, after the poor officiating that will occur at the game. Last year same thing, the game before the Christmas break, the same poor officiating. Why is it every time the Regina Pats play the Calgary Hitmen in Calgary, we get poor officiating. It is about time the WHL did something.

It will be Regina Pats visiting the Calgary Hitmen 7:00pm (8pm Regina Time), at the Pengrowth Saddledome with CKRM Broadcaster Rod Pedersen, and colorman Dan Plaster, (Press Box Sports Bar Pre-game Show at 7:35pm). Canada Junior Hockey Team will be playing Slovakia at 7pm (Regina Time) on TSN Television at Saskatoon. So you can listen to the Regina Pats game on the radio, plus the Canadian game on televsion.

GAME SUMMARY: - Calgary's Chase Schaber came in and scored after the third rebound on a power play goal at 7:04, assisted by MacKenzie and Ian Schultz. Three minutes later Regina tied the score as Craig Orfeno scored at 10:09 assisted by Cody Carlson. Calgary made it 3-1 when they scored two quick goals in the last minutes of the period. First it was Ian Schultz scoring at 18:16, assisted by Tyler Fiddler and Joel Broda. Next it was Kyle Achim scoring at 19:36, assisted by Misha Fisenko and Peter Kosterman.

Regina Pats Matt Strueby scored a power play goal at 10:21 on a rebound to make it 3-2. In the third period Regina Pats Defenceman Cody Carlson gave a turn-over in his own zone. Tyler Fidder scored short handed at 3:22. With Regina pulling their goalie, Strueby scored his second goal with 1:40 left in the period, assisted by Garrett Mitchell to make it closer 4-3.

Was a good officiating game but a tough one to loose. The Pats bussed to Cranbrook right after the game and will face the Kootenay Ice on New Year's Eve in Game 3 of the trip at 8:00pm Sask time on 620 CKRM with Broadcaster Rod Pedersen and Colorman Dan Plaster.
