It was a fast first period only taking a little over 25 minutes to play.

In the second period, Canada came out flying once again, scoring three goals before the four minute mark to go up 5-0. The Canadian Juniors scored two power play goals with in 20 seconds of the first minute of play. The first had Nazem Kadri score on a shot from the right boards at 1:06, assisted by Ryan Ellis and Travis Hamonic. All he had to do was be in front of the net and tip in a pass from Jared Cowan in to an open net. Jordan Eberle also got an assist to give him a 5 point game and move into a tie for first place in the scoring race with his teammate Gabriel Bourque with 7 points.

In the other game at Regina Brandt Centre, Finland out shot Russia 46 to 17 only to come out with Russia winning the game 2-0. Russia's goaltender Igor Bobkov was brilliant in the game, coming up with at least five spectacular saves to keep Russia in the game. At the end of the game, who ever chose the three stars over looked Bobkov. He should have been the number one star, by far.
