CANADA HOLDS OFF THE CZECH REPUBLICS AND WIN 3-2 IN A PRE-TOURNAMENT GAME

GAME SUMMARY: by Ron "Scoreboard" Johnston - It was Canada 3-1 going into the third period, as the Czech team scored. In the last minute they were able to pull their goalie only to see Canada's Jordan Eberle just miss on an empty net with about 30 seconds remaining.

The opening period had both teams come out of the period scoreless. The Czech goaltender Fraqouz was the difference in the period, stopping many top labeled shots. Canada out shot the Zech Republic 15-5.

The second period their were a total of four goals. The Czeh Republic opened the scoring when Michal Jordan took a long shot from the centre of the blue line and Thomas Vancour tipped it in at the 9:40 mark, Jan Kana also assisted. Canada came right back at 10:20 as Taylor Hall skated in from the blue line and scored on his own rebound at the right side of the net. Canada went up 2-1 on a short handed goal, they were 2 men short when Gabriel Bourque carried the puck down the right boards and scored on a long shot from the top of the right face off circle. Canada's Jordan Eberle made it 3-1 as he scored at 19:34 on his own rebound, as he was parked right infront of the net.

The only scoring in the third period had the puck bounce off Jan Kana's leg near the front of the net at the 11:10 mark. In the dying minute of the period the Czech Republic pulled their goaltender only to see Eberle miss the the empty net as the puck slide past the right side of the net.
