Regina Pats visit Portland Winterhawks Tonight 9:00 pm (Regina Time) Memorial Arena 8:35 pm Press Box Sports Bar Pregame Show on 620 CKRM with Dan Plaster as the broadcaster. The only WHL game slated for tonight. The Pats are coming off a 7-1 win over the Tri-City Americans in Kennewick, Washington, USA on Saturday for their third straight victory, and currently sit tied for fourth place in the East Division. The Pats’ power play is tied for first place on the road with a 34.8 per cent success rate. The Pats have won 6 of the last ten meetings with Portland. Regina Pats Jordan Eberle and Colten Teubert will miss tonight and to-morrow's game, due to their being at Victoria, BC for the Russian game, Wednesday night.

GAME SUMMARY: Regina Pats opened the scoring as Tomas Hricina scored on a rebound, at 7:26, assisted by Tyler Parker and Jason Gardiner. Portland Winterhawks tied the game as Nino Niederreiter scored at 12:28, assisted by Chris Francis and Daniel Johnston.

In the second period, Regina Pats went up 2-1 on a 5 on 3 power play goal. Matt Scrubey scored on a rebound from the soft back boards at 4:44, assisted by Cody Carlson and Brandon Davidson. A Regina Pats on a nice 3 way passing play had Garrett Mitchell make it 3-1 at 9:06, assisted by Jordan Weal (moving him into third place in the WHL scoring race, behind Pats Jordan Eberle) and Hampus Gustaffson. Portland scored a power play goal by Neiderreiter (his second of the game), assisted by Troy Turkowski and Ryan Johansen to make the score 3-2 for Regina. With only two seconds remaining in the second period Regina Pats went up 4-2 with Gustaffson scoring on two Portland turn overs, assisted by Carlson and Davidson.

Neiderreiter got a hat trick as he scored at 3:41 in the third period, assisted by Brad Ross and Johansen to make it 4-3 for Regina. Regina Pats then scored two quick goals to make it 6-3. The first Gustaffson a screen shot at 11:29, assisted by Davidson, then Hricina at 13:06, assisted by Weal.
